and also to the growing Asian PMMA market. |

Our plant adopts a safe and compact process, which is able to produce a wide range of product grades from high fluidity resin to low fluidity resin.
PMMA is manufactured by continuous bulk polymerisation of MMA-Monomer.
The process is simple and compact and highly efficient as it is vertically
integrated with the MMA-Monomer plants. Applications include general
purpose, lens, extruded sheets, LCD applications, etc.
Our plant's utilization of state-of-the-art manufacturing technology,
together with continual technical support from Sumitomo Chemical,
strives to maintain consistent production of high quality products
to achieve greater customer satisfaction. The flow chart below summarizes

SUMIPEX™, a high quality Polymethyl
Methacrylate (PMMA) resin, has become renowned worldwide for its
exceptional clarity and weather resistance, with improvements on heat,
impact and chemical resistance. SMP plant has a total of six SUMIPEX
grades: EX, EXN, MH, MG, LG and LG2.
Main applications of PMMA:
- Extruded sheets for signage, displays and building material
- Automotive parts such as tail lamps, meter covers and sun visors
- General sundries such as tableware, kitchenware, giftware and bathroom accessories
- Optical lenses such as sunglasses, reading glasses and camera
lenses
- Light guide panels for LCD displays
Other applications such as mobile phone display panels, clock covers,
lighting covers/accessories, optical fibres, toys, etc. |
